President’s Message

Welcome to the Guild of Baking and Pastry Arts. We have recently evolved out of what was the New York Guild of Chefs. Without our forefathers of the Guild of Chefs, our Guild of Baking and Pastry Arts would not have been possible.

My name is Robert Ellinger and I am very proud and honored to be the first president of the most progressive Pastry and Baking Guild in the United States. We have hit the ground running with over eighty members of professionals, baking enthusiasts and student members.

My foremost goals are education for our members and scholarships for our student members. We have a dynamic board of Directors who are eager to work for our membership. The Guild of Baking and Pastry Arts is currently in full swing but the official website will not be fully operational until March of 2011.

Our meetings are electric with demonstrations on everything pastry and baking. We meet the first Tuesday of every month and would like to invite anyone interested in joining the guild to attend one of our meetings for a “test-drive”.

I promise you if you join the Guild of Baking and Pastry Arts you will feel like you have joined a warm, comfortable family of people with the same interests of your own. You will start to network and build a whole new connection into the world of baking and pastries.

In the spirit of J.F.K., “Ask not what the Guild can do for you, but what you can do for the Guild!” No guild can thrive on just a few members doing all of the work. We have to all work together to build this dynamic association.
